WalkUps Privacy Policy
Effective October 29, 2026WalkUps is an iPad app for formal-wear and bridal shops. Store staff use it to
check in walk-in shoppers, run their appointments and see how the day went.
WalkUps is made by Clarum LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what
information WalkUps handles, why, and the choices you have.It covers two groups of people:
• Stores: the businesses that sign up for WalkUps, and their staff.
• Shoppers: people who enter their details on a store's iPad during a visit. The short version
• A shopper's details belong to the store they visited. We store them so the
store can use them, and for nothing else.
• We don't sell personal information, show ads, or track anyone across other
apps or websites.
• WalkUps has no advertising or analytics tools in it.
• Shoppers decide for themselves whether they want marketing emails. The box is
never checked for them.
• A store can delete its account, and everything in it, from inside the app.Information about shoppers
When you visit a store that uses WalkUps, you may be asked to fill in a short
form on the store's iPad. Depending on the store, it can include:
• Your first and last name, email address and phone number
• Your event (for example a wedding, prom or quinceañera) and its date
• How you heard about the store, your budget, dress size, favorite colors, and
what you're looking for
• Whether you'd like marketing emails from the store. If you check the box, we
also save the exact wording you agreed to, the language it was shown in and the
time.
• The language you chose for the formThe store's staff then add details about the appointment: which staff member
helped you, when it started and ended, the dresses suggested, whether you bought
anything, and any follow-up notes.How it's used
• To help you during your visit. Your preferences (event, budget, size, colors
and what you're looking for) are used to suggest dresses from the store's own
collection. Your name, email and phone number are not used for this.
• So the store can follow up with you. The store sees your details in the app
and may send them to its own Google Sheet and to its daily summary email (see
below).
• For marketing, only if you agreed. WalkUps doesn't send marketing emails
itself. If you checked the email box, the store may add you to its own mailing
list. You can unsubscribe using the link in any of its emails, or by asking the
store.Who's responsible for your information
The store you visited decides what it collects and how it uses your information.
We store and process it on the store's behalf, following the store's
instructions. For questions or requests about your information, contact the
store first. If you can't reach them, contact us (below) and we'll help.Information about stores
• Account: the store's sign-in email and password. The password is handled by
our sign-in provider, and we never see it.
• Store settings: store name, website, time zone, logo, colors, staff first
names, the admin PIN (stored only in scrambled, hashed form), and the email
addresses chosen to receive the daily summary.
• Subscription: purchases are made through Apple. We receive the plan, dates and
renewal status from Apple so we can turn the store's access on or off. We never
receive card or payment details.
• Device: a random ID that WalkUps creates for each iPad, so the store can tell
which iPad recorded a visit. It isn't linked to the advertising identifier or
any other app.
• Product catalog: if the store gives us its website, we read its public product
listings (names, photos, prices, sizes) to make dress suggestions.Service providers
We use a small number of companies to run WalkUps. Each one gets only what it
needs for its job.
• Supabase: database, sign-in, file storage and server functions, hosted in the
United States. Receives everything described in this policy.
• Google (Gemini): picks dress suggestions and writes the daily summary
paragraph. Receives shopping preferences (no names or contact details), the
store's products, and the day's totals with staff first names.
• Google (Sheets): copies visits into the store's own Google Sheet, only if the
store connects one. Receives the visit details listed above.
• Resend: sends the daily summary email to the addresses the store chose.
Receives the day's totals, staff first names, and the name, phone number and
notes of shoppers due a follow-up.
• Apple: subscriptions and payments, handled under Apple's privacy policy
(https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/).A Google Sheet a store connects belongs to that store's Google account. What
happens to it after it's copied there is up to the store. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect people's
safety, or as part of a sale or merger of our business. If a merger or sale
happens, this policy will keep applying to the information. What we don't do
• We don't sell or rent personal information, or share it for advertising.
• We don't track anyone across other companies' apps or websites.
• We don't include advertising, analytics or tracking tools in the app.
• We don't use the app's location, camera, microphone, or contacts. The only
photo a store adds is its logo, which it picks itself. How long we keep information
We keep a store's information, including its shoppers' visits, for as long as
the store has a WalkUps account. A store can remove a shopper's information by
asking us. When a store deletes its account (Admin → Subscription → Delete Store
Account), we delete its staff, visits, settings, logo and sign-in from WalkUps.
Copies already in the store's Google Sheet or in emails that were already sent
are not affected. Our hosting provider keeps short-lived technical logs, which
can include IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting.Security
Information is encrypted in transit and at rest. Each store's data is kept
separate, so a store's account can only reach its own information. Admin
features on the iPad are behind a PIN. Access keys for our providers stay on our
servers, never in the app. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to
protect the information we hold, and we'll notify affected stores of a breach as
the law requires.Your choices and rights
• Shoppers: you can ask the store to show you, correct or delete your
information, or to stop sending you marketing emails. You can also contact us,
and we'll work with the store to handle it.
• Stores: you can change your settings at any time, and delete your account from
the app.
• Depending on where you live (for example California or the European Union),
you may have more rights, such as access, correction, deletion and portability.
We'll honor them as the law requires, and we won't treat you differently for
using them.Children
WalkUps is used by store staff, not by children. Shoppers may be teenagers, for
example for a prom or quinceañera. The form is meant to be filled in by the
shopper or the adult they come with. We don't knowingly collect information from
children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has entered information,
contact us and we'll delete it.Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the date at
the top. If the changes are significant, we'll let stores know in the app or by
email.Contact us
